These homeowners had just built their new forever home after moving from Montana, but were left with some very interesting grades from the builder. With grand plans in mind, we were asked to build a natural landscape that encompasses the beauty of Montana in a Colorado setting. We started by adding massive boulder retaining walls- it’s difficult to really capture the size on camera. The boulders on the bottom tier are about 3-6 feet wide and tall, and the walls weighed over 120,000lbs!
This is where we got the idea to build our first fire boulder. While we were working on the fire pit area we noticed we had a leftover boulder and thought it would be neat way to create a fire pit on such a natural landscape. We even chiseled in cupholders! This landscape is perfect to enjoy a cold one in the great outdoors in your own backyard.
